Franchise Discovery Guide

Talk to an owner

The single most-recommended step before buying a franchise is talking to people who already own one. This is where that happens: verified owners, candid conversations, no salesperson in the room.

Every FDD review checklist and every honest advisor says the same thing: before money moves, interview existing franchisees. Ask about the first year, the real economics, and whether the support in the sales deck shows up after signing. Most candidates never do it because cold-calling strangers is awkward. This program removes the awkward part.

How it works

  1. 01

    Tell us the brand

Request an introduction below with the brand you are researching and what you want to ask. If an owner is listed for it, great; if not, we say so honestly.

  2. 02

    We introduce you by email

Introductions are matched by hand, owner-by-owner, so nobody gets swamped and every conversation is with someone who actually wants to have it. You get a reference code with every introduction.

  3. 03

    You talk, owner to candidate

The call is yours: no scripts, no chaperone, no recording unless you both want one. Bring real questions — the franchisor question builder below will give you a sheet of them.

Owners listed here may be eligible for a referral bonus from their own franchisor if you ultimately join that system. Franchise Discovery Guide is not paid for these introductions and takes no fee from either side.

Listed owners

The founding cohort of owners is being verified now. Requests below still work — if no listed owner fits your brand yet, we will tell you straight and try to find one rather than fake a match. Owners: this is the best moment to get listed.

Prefer to just listen first? Some owners record one conversation so you can hear what these calls are like: owner podcasts.

Request an introduction

Free for candidates, matched by hand. Before the call, build your question sheet with the franchisor question builder — it includes validation questions written for exactly this conversation.

Introductions are free for candidates. This is not a credit application and does not pull anyone's credit.

Own a franchise? Get listed

You already field validation calls — this just sends you serious candidates instead of cold ones, on your schedule. If your franchisor runs a franchisee referral program, our introduction records give you the paper trail to claim it. Every profile is verified by hand before listing. You can also email info@franchisediscoveryguide.com directly.

Topics you will discuss candidly

Listing is free. If your franchisor runs a franchisee referral program, any bonus for candidates you talk to is between you and them — we take no cut and expect none. Your profile will carry a standard disclosure so candidates know such programs exist.

Owners speak from their own experience and only for themselves, not for their franchisor or for Franchise Discovery Guide. A listing is not an endorsement of any brand, and one owner's results are not a prediction of yours. Verify everything you hear against the current FDD. Nothing here is legal, tax, investment, or lending advice.
